Tuesday, November 28, 2022, a working session was held at the port of Radès under the leadership of MM. Fathi Al-Hanashi, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Management, and Fouad Othman, Director General of the Office de la Marchande. Navy and Ports, in the presence of many executives from both institutions.
This session focused on the review of the Office's energy transition strategy, which revolves around three main orientations:
Establish energy efficiency,
Use renewable energies and ensure carbon neutrality
_Support the energy mix of commercial ports to cover the specific rights of the office and the entire port group, with the aim of establishing green ports carrying out their activities with respect for the ocean.
During this meeting, the following was agreed:
● The need to set up the solar energy production station in the port of Radès, which represents the first experience at the national level in the field of renewable energy production.
● The need to support communication to present the Office's energy transition program and its strategy in this area in its various components, with the creation of investment mechanisms, with the contribution and support of the Agence de Contrôle de Energy.
● The support and support of the Office by the National Energy Management Agency for obtaining the ISO 50001 certificate, from the first preparations to the implementation of this certificate in the commercial ports, that would allow the Office to dispose of energy in accordance with international standards,
The day after this meeting, the two parties signed a joint framework agreement for cooperation between the Merchant Marine and Ports Office and the National Agency for Energy Management to support the Office in carrying out projects self-generation of renewable energy and the establishment of an energy efficiency program in all commercial ports.
