Workshop Launch of the Thermal Insulation Program for Roofs "Promoisol"

The National Energy Control Agency organized a workshop today, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in the capital Tunis, focusing on the launch of the thermal insulation program for roofs. This is part of the implementation of the national energy control strategy, aiming to invigorate the market for thermal insulation of roofs in individual homes, both old and new, and reduce energy consumption expenses related to heating and air conditioning. The workshop was attended by various stakeholders in the program, including the National Federation of Building and Public Works Enterprises, the Union of Thermal Insulation Contractors, the Ministry of Equipment, representatives of the Engineers' Guild, the Architects' Guild, and suppliers of thermal insulation solutions.

Mr. Fathi Al-Hanchi, the Director-General of the National Energy Control Agency, inaugurated the workshop, emphasizing the importance of this program in stimulating the thermal insulation market in Tunisia and reducing the energy bill. He explained that the completion of this project will enable the country to reduce its energy deficit and create new jobs while improving investments.

On his part, Mr. Jamel Qaissi, President of the National Federation of Building and Public Works Enterprises, stressed the need to work towards the success of this project by providing the necessary means and ensuring effective promotion.

The National Energy Control Agency's executives provided detailed information on the "Promoisol" roof thermal insulation program, presenting comprehensive studies on all technical aspects.

It is worth noting that this program aims to promote thermal insulation of roofs under the "Promoisol" initiative and stimulate the market for thermal insulation of roofs in individual homes, both old and new, while reducing energy consumption expenses related to heating and air conditioning. It also aims to strengthen the capabilities of thermal insulation concentration companies and provide a suitable offer for the widespread implementation of this process.

Regarding investments in the residential sector for thermal insulation of roofs in individual homes, the Agency grants:

  • A grant of up to 25% of the investment cost, with a ceiling of 21 dinars per square meter for the insulated roofs of existing homes.
  • A grant of up to 25% of the investment cost, with a ceiling of 16 dinars per square meter for the insulated roofs of homes under construction.
  • A complementary grant of 6 dinars per square meter for the insulated roof, for existing and under-construction homes, benefiting 3000 homes in the pilot phase of the program.
