Participation of the National Agency for Energy Conservation in the International Summit on Sustainable Buildings and Construction 2026 in Lausanne

A delegation from the National Agency for Energy Conservation, represented by Ms. Amira Derouich El Karoui from the Management Control Department, and Ms. Marwa Bedoui and Ms. Fatma Zahra Ghribi from the Energy Efficiency in Buildings Department, participated in the International Summit on Sustainable Buildings and Construction 2026, held in Lausanne, Switzerland, from April 20 to 22, 2026.
The summit brought together countries facing major climate challenges while leading innovative solutions in the field of sustainable buildings. The Tunisian delegation participated as a partner country in the “PEEB Cool” programme, alongside Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, and North Macedonia, enabling the sharing of concrete experiences and impactful results.
During the summit, the delegation took part in the roundtable of partner countries of the “PEEB Cool” programme, contributing to strengthening dialogue with international partners, notably the French Development Agency (AFD), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Safety (BMUKN). A bilateral meeting was also held with the French Development Agency to discuss progress achieved and future prospects of the “PEEB Cool” programme, in addition to participation in several specialized workshops.
This summit provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, strengthening cooperation, and highlighting Tunisia’s commitment to advancing energy efficiency in the building sector through the “PEEB Cool” programme.
