The National Agency for Energy Conservation concluded On Friday, January 16, 2026, in the capital the third training course on carbon accounting for university professors, after organizing two consecutive training courses in Tunisia and Sfax, within the framework of supporting national efforts to confront climate change and promote the transition towards a low-carbon economy.These courses, organized within the framework of the implementation of the Integrated Carbon Program and the TETA project, have enabled the training of 90 university professors from various public and private universities and higher education institutions, representing various scientific disciplines related to the energy transition and climate.

This initiative aims to establish a solid foundation of academic competencies capable of integrating the concepts of carbon accounting, decarbonization, and climate resilience into university programs, thus contributing to the preparation of new generations of qualified competencies to keep pace with the demands of the green economy and low-carbon professions.

In this context, the National Agency for Energy Conservation confirmed that these courses represent a first step in a more comprehensive path, as it intends, during the next phase, to prepare and implement an integrated program to accompany university professors and higher education institutions, aiming to support the development of pedagogical programs, create specialized educational units, and enhance scientific research and training in the fields of energy transition and climate.
