The first edition of the Sustainable Investment Forum between Tunisia and the Nordic countries

On Monday, November 25, 2024, Mr. Fathi Hanchi, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Control, participated in a discussion session within the activities of the first edition of the Sustainable Investment Forum, which addressed ways to accelerate the green transition.

During the session, Mr. Fathi Hanchi presented the role of the National Agency for Energy Control in implementing the state policy to support the energy transition in Tunisia, noting the importance of stimulating investment in this field by accompanying private institutions to implement green projects, and building an integrated service and industrial fabric. He also stressed the importance of the forum as a platform to enhance and accelerate the energy transition through joint investment projects in the fields of renewable energy, energy valuation of waste, and clean technologies. He highlighted the need to provide appropriate financing mechanisms to encourage investment in these priority areas.

The forum represented an opportunity to strengthen Tunisian cooperation with Northern European countries, open new horizons for investment, and mobilize climate financing to support future projects in this vital sector. The forum activities witnessed wide participation from Tunisian actors working in the renewable energy sector, which reflects the growing importance of this field in supporting sustainable development in Tunisia
