The National Agency for Energy Control, in partnership with the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, announced this Wednesday, September 25, 2024, during the first edition of the Decarbonization Forum, the official launch of the Prosol Elec Économique project, aimed at middle-income families. The announcement was made in the presence of Mr. Fathi Hanchi, General Director of the National Agency for Energy Control, and Mr. Fayçal Trifa, CEO of the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, under the supervision of Mr. Wael Chouchane, Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, in charge of Energy Transition, with the participation of all stakeholders, such as the Tunisian-German Cooperation Program Giz, the Mitigation Action Facility (MAF), the National Trade Union Chamber of Photovoltaic System Installers, and the CONECT organization.
Beneficiaries:
This project is aimed at self-producing electricity through photovoltaic solar systems connected to the low-voltage grid, targeting middle-income families whose annual electricity consumption is between 1,200 and 1,800 kilowatt-hours.
Financing:
The program is based on a financing system that provides a subsidy of 1,500 dinars per installation, funded by the Energy Transition Fund, along with a bank loan at a reduced interest rate of 3%, repayable over a 10-year period through deductions from the electricity bill.
